San Elijo Dance & Music Academy's Graduation Performance 2008 Dance Recital was a great success! We look forward to seeing you at our 2009 performance.
PARENT INFORMATION
The dancers have worked very hard this year and we are so excited for them to dance at the theater! The following information will help you know what to expect for volunteering, security, costumes, rehearsals, photos, flowers, and the show. If you still have questions please come to the front desk or ask your teacher.
Volunteer Backstage
Many Backstage Chaperones are still needed. Please stop in the lobby or email Lisa direct to sign up to help with the recital. If you would like to be a chaperone for your child’s class we would require you to help with both the dress rehearsal and the show for that class. Sign up in the lobby or email Lisa.
Volunteer Check in / Check out (Security)
We still need volunteers for check in/check out and security. Please email Patty Kretz.
Costumes
Costumes will be passed out next week in class. Costume notes are posted in the studio lobby. Be sure to talk to your teacher to make sure you have everything you need (shoe color, tight color, etc). Your account must be current to receive your costume.
Dress Rehearsal
Rehearsal times have been posted in the lobby and will be posted on the site. Be sure to copy down the arrival and departure for each class in which you will be performing. Remember, Dress Rehearsal is mandatory at the theater-no dancer will perform without attending their scheduled dress rehearsal. Dancers should arrive dressed in their costume with make-up & hair done and costume complete. There will not be time allotted for hair and make-up, dress at the theater.
Photos
Photos will be taken at the dress rehearsal. The cost is $25 and it will include one 8X10. Please bring a check to the studio lobby and fill out a photo shoot order form this week.
Flowers
Flowers will be available for pick up for your dancer at the show.
Show Arrival Info / Intermission Pick Up Info
Show is at The Poway Performing Arts Center 15498 Espola Rd Poway, CA 92064
If you are dancing in the first half of the show arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the show.
If you are not dancing in the first half please arrive at the start of the show.
Dancers dancing only in the first half of the show will be released at intermission and will need a ticket if they will be joining you in the audience to watch the second half of the show.
COSTUME NOTES
Absolutely NO jewlery. Students are responsible for providing shoes, tights, and other accessories for their costume as specified. Performers should arrive at the theater ready to go on stage in their first class costume!
Please ensure that the performer is wearing the costume they will be wearing first in the show with their makeup on and hair done. All students will be required to wear stage makeup. Please arrive at the theater wearing brown eye shadow, brown eye liner, mascara, blush, and bright red lipstick. Please bring lipstick to theater to re-apply. Students should arrive with their hair slicked back in a bun with no bangs/wispies (unless otherwise specified).
BALLET CLASSES
All Ballet Classes: Buttercup through Ballet 8
Shoes: Pink Bloch or Sansha Ballet Shoes: *Canvas Split Sole with Criss-Cross Strap
Tights: Pink tights as worn in class
Hair: High slicked back in bun with no bangs
All hairpieces if applicable placed on right side of bun or around bun
*All hairpieces will be handed out at dress rehearsal.
* Required for Ballet 3 and higher
Teen Ballet
Shoes: Barefoot with Dance Paws (you provide)
Tights: Footless Tan tights (you provide)
Hair: Bangs pulled back with small “poof”
Adult Ballet
Shoes: Pink Ballet Shoes
Tights: Pink tights as worn in class
Hair: Hair slicked back in bun with no bangs
